Some of the fascinating facts of the auction are as follows.
- The recent Asian sales season at Sotheby's Hong Kong set a positive tone for 2010 and confirms that the recovery process is picking up momentum.
- The Chinese and Asian sales that took place between the 3rd and 8th of April 2010 generated a record total of $260 million (incl. Premium) (HKD 2 billion). This was 54% higher than the previous season in the autumn of 2009.
- Among the 172 lots put on the block 129 of these found buyers resulting in a solid sell through rate of 75%

We also have a report on an art auction that took place in Turkey on the 15th of April 2010. A few of the details of the auction are as follows.
- Sotheby's second Contemporary Turkish sale on the 15th April in London, raised a total of £1,958,600 (excluding premium) against a pre-sale estimate of £1,930,500 to £2,889,500.
- The total was 87% or £912,300 higher than the total achieved in April 2009.
- In terms of lots this years sale included 102 lots versus 71 lots last year.
- Bought-in rates by lots was 33% against 30% last year, implying that despite the 44% increase in the number of lots the market demonstrated the capacity to digest the increase in volume, a signal of strength.
